Andrew Evans started his racing career during the 1980s. At that time he faced many obstacles. His love for racing started in the year 1963 when he witnessed a Can-Am race. However during the 1980s he found that holding tight turns and pressing the gas pedal were not the only things involved in racing career. He had to drag his car from racing event to another. Since he didn’t have the money to hire a crew, so he was forced to spend many hours working under his race car’s hood. He did this to make sure that his car could compete with those
driven by racecar drivers. Filling out administrative papers is not a task that most people seeking thrills can do easily.

Andrew Evans was committed to all aspect involved in professional racing. It was this commitment that earned him a membership in the Camel GT Lights class of the International Motor Sports Association. Once he was recognized as a professional racecar driver, he started exploring other option within the racing industry. He started a relationship with Ferrari and set up an auto restoration firm called Scandia Engineering. Thoughts of building his own team started taking shape in his mind. He wanted his team to consist of only competitive drivers. He formed his racing team in the year 1994 and called it Team Scandia. Since he was viewed both as a savvy business owner and a talented driver within the industry, he was able to coax some of the industry’s most successful drivers to join Team Scandia.
