The come-back of old watch brands was a usual thing before economic crisis. Now, things are quite different. I have just seen a few cases in these years. The Arcadia, an older watch brand, is right an example. It has just been reborn and remade their older model AC01. The Arcadia remade AC01 watch keeps the original cushion shape and features an attractive design that walks elegantly between Alain Silberstein, and Jacob & Co. Arcadia well grasps the scale- the watch is attractive but not flashy all all. The watch is modestly sized – 42mm in diameter and 14.6mm at thickness. The case itself is a solid combo of steel and titanium. Beating inside is a Depraz automatic movement which is basically a Swiss ETA 2892 added with a chronograph and a a second timezone. The 18k rose gold rotor of the movement is exposed by the sapphire crystal at the case back. The watch is presented onto the wrist by a black fabric strap that is very hot
nowadays. The dial, featuring carbon fiber round central zone, sports a three-dimensional display. With four over-lapped subsidiary dials that display the above mentioned complications, the dial looks a bit busy yet very interesting. And thanks to the high contract, the dial maintains very good legibility. I love the front sapphire crystal that has been specially shaped to match the angular case. But I do not like the hands-they look a bit stubby with certain thickness. According to Arcadia, they will just make 275 pieces of the Remade AC01 watch. And the watch will be officially released at the in January, 2011 in Geneva. If the watch becomes a success, Arcadia will make more new timepieces to revive the brand.
